EE Smith Contracts is one of the UK’s leading specialist interior fit-out contractors. Privately owned, and operating from our purpose-built headquarters in Leicester, we’ve been setting the industry standard for 130 years. We are experts in fitting out some of the world’s most prestigious hotels, commercial interiors and private residences. Our interior solutions are engineered to the finest tolerances, ensuring the finished product perfectly matches the designer’s vision.
EE Smith Contracts is also one of the UK’s leaders in training apprentice joiners and cabinet makers. We take on new applicants every year, and have seen over 200 apprentices successfully pass through our programme. It’s this marriage of technology and tradition that allows us to deliver high-quality solutions to design briefs without compromising on aesthetic requirements.
DESIGN
With over 30 CAD technicians on hand to design and develop our wide range of projects, no detail is too complex for our established elite team. Our highly skilled 2D and 3D-trained technicians work around the clock to create solutions that refuse to compromise on buildability, practicality, or the capability of our prestigious projects.
Without our Design and CNC programming teams, many of our projects would not be possible. It’s their passion and skills that drive our work to new advanced levels. We are often dependent on their innovative approaches to solve multiple challenges across our projects, and it’s this creative thinking that makes our work so successful.
We also place a strong emphasis on our in-house training scheme, supported by our own specialists and consultants, this ensures the continual development and growth of the department.
SURVEY
With industry-leading 3D surveying technology, our highly trained surveying team ensures all design, manufacture, and site works is completed to the highest level of accuracy.
All our digital surveys have the additional facility to be viewed as models , sectioned, and referenced in CAD drawings also geo-referenced to ensure all design are fully coordinated with pinout accuracy.
BIM
At EE Smith, we recognise the significance of Building Information Modelling (BIM) within the construction industry. With this in mind, we have developed our own BIM team who work alongside our CAD technicians, ensuring seamless coordination between design, modelling, and manufacture to deliver fully integrated project solutions.
Technology
At EE Smith our highly skilled workforce is complimented further by state of the joinery processing machinery including 5 axis CNC machines and fully automated panel cutting and storage system.
This ensures we are fully equipped and ready to produce the finest bespoke or mass produced items to the tightest tolerances.
Veneer
Carefully selected logs of veneer are handpicked by our time served veneerers, trained in the art of producing bespoke decorative and marquetry panels to the highest specifications.
Our flexible veneer facility can also increase its output to very high demands. With multiple presses and in line gluing system, it allows us to achieve high volumes whilst still meeting any projects exacting standards.
Craftsmanship
Across our 6 factories our advanced skills and knowledge continue to be passed down from the experienced craftsmen to keen, young apprentices supported by in house training programme providing our staff unparalleled combination of traditional skills along with modern techniques.

With an entire factory space dedicated to door manufacturing & highly sought after fire door accreditations allows us to produce doors that meet the beauty and aesthetics of the design whilst achieving modern day performance requirements.
With our round the clock operations at our disposal, we have the capacity to manage mass produced and bespoke door sets alike.
METAL SHop
Using modern techniques of production & fabrication blended with traditional skills we can deliver the best architectural and ornate metalwork, made to the tightest tolerances & highest standards. Combined with the skills capable of producing any finish - we can provide the perfect integration of joinery & metalwork.

Our traditional & creative specialist hand applied techniques bring to life a wide range of unique & beautiful designs. With the most advanced environmentally friendly coating systems applied in our £1 million state of the art spraying facility, we can produce the finest finishes to both small and large scale projects offering the perfect balance of quality and quantity.
Quality control
Our dedicated team of Quality Controllers who inspect every item before it leaves our premises. By having such a stringent process in place, it guarantees that every detail is perfect for our clients.
With control checks throughout the lifecycle of our joinery, Starting from the sampling process through to its installation, it eliminates any room for error & allows us to create and deliver to the highest quality.
Dispatch
Our dedicated delivery & dispatch team take great care and attention packaging & transporting our fragile and highly finished goods. No matter what the size, weight or shape of the item, we will always find a way to get this safely & securely to site. our fully compliant drivers and modern fleet of transport, means we have the control and flexibility needed to transport our bespoke, 1 of a kind joinery pieces to anywhere in the UK.
Installation
With the majority of our work being London based, we have a large directly employed work force who are located in & around the local area. strengthened further by our own successful on-site apprentice scheme fostering the 'Train and Retain' culture by involving the youth & community as it helps the area and the
trade thrive.
